Parkinson's disease - rediscovering movement
What happens with Parkinson's disease
Parkinson's disease is a disease of the brain that primarily affects the control and execution of movements. Typical symptoms include slower movements, muscle stiffness and tremors at rest. The cause is damage to the nerve cells that produce the neurotransmitter dopamine, which plays a central role in transmitting signals to the muscles. This makes it more difficult to start movements and execute them smoothly. Gait instability and an increased risk of falling often occur.
Therapy for tech2people
In addition to drug treatment, targeted exercise therapy can significantly improve quality of life.
With tech2people we work with modern devices that promote coordination, balance and mobility - such as the Pablo Set to improve movement control or the Tymo, exoskeleton or LokomatPro for targeted trunk and gait training.
Thanks to the robotic support, movements can be trained with a high repetition frequency - a decisive factor in consolidating and automating movement sequences.
